This month's Sunday ride was led by Woodworm, he writes...
The ride from Ottery on Sunday 8th November was attended by eight AVP members, Foggie, Sixty Six, Fishnet and No.10 on their tandem, Handbag, Cockle, Whinger, and me plus Susan from the Tandem club.
The weather started off dull and overcast but got better and better throughout the day turning to sunshine in the afternoon
The ride was a very leisurely and sociable one and must hold the record for the number of tea stops during a Sunday ride at four stops. Otterton Mill, Exmouth seafront, a café at Lympstone and finally a kind invitation from Susan and Ted Gameson of the Tandem club to join them for tea and flapjacks at their home in West Hill. Ted had cycled over from West Hill to join up with us at Lympstone.
The cycle track between Budleigh and Exmouth was very picturesque with a carpet of autumn leaves everywhere and we watched some kite surfers flying along in the strong winds at Exmouth.
We bid farewell to Handbag at Woodbury on the return leg as he had cycled to the start from home, and then continued on to Aylesbeare and Ottery via West Hill.
It was a very enjoyable ride and I think one that I would like to repeat again next year.
