A civic reception was held on Friday 16th April 2010 in Seaton’s Town Hall to launch The Great Tour. A 6,600 km bicycle journey around the coastline of Great Britain in 64 consecutive days. Members of the Axe Valley Pedallers committee who also are part of the group coordinating the Seaton Festival of Cycling were at hand to listen to all the exciting news.
 
It is incredible to think that Seaton will be hosting the start and finish of the inaugural ride of this high profile event and it is in no small part due to the friendly and welcoming nature of the Axe Valley Pedallers that the event organisers have chosen Seaton.
