A big thank you to Sono for hosting a really great bike painting and BBQ evening, with an excellent turnout of enthusiastic Pedallers, turning rusting wrecks into brightly covered bikes!

The front garden of Sono’s home was turned into an outdoor paint shop with Jolly, Barley, Buster, Quiff, Bar Bunny, Woodworm, Whinger, Madal and Sono all at hand as a work party. The project is to provide at least a dozen bicycles that will be painted, each in a single colour and then used to decorate a roundabout in Seaton.

The bikes, once in place will have flowers in baskets, attached to the handlebars and top tube. It is all to celebrate the start and of The Great Tour on 3rd July and also to make a statement that Seaton is a great place to cycle!

As the light grew dim and the temperature dropped, the work party packed up and went round to the back garden, where Sono’s house mates had the BBQ fired up, evening lights draped around and the eating began!

If you are free, don’t miss out on next Tuesday (18/05/10), Sono is going to arrange phase two of the roundabout bike painting. We are also going to need some helpers to clear some flower beds and help locate the bikes. Can volunteers contact Ketchup, Sono or Madal.

Thanks again everyone for a great evening and a really brilliant AVP spirit of fun!
