The Axe Valley Pedallers have just had a visit from Katie Aartse-Tuyun, the Volunteer Co-ordinator from Sustrans in Bristol. Katie had travelled down to the Axe Valley to meet up with two of our volunteer Rangers for Sustrans (Madal and Deegee) and also to sign up two new Rangers (Bar Bunny and Nevis). She cycled with the Axe Valley Pedallers who meet her form the train and later made a presentation explaining the role of the Ranger today and how they can help encourage all to cycle not only to keep fit, but as a principle form of transport.
It was an excellent day, and so good to hear all about the growth of cycling throughout the country. We were also updated on the development of The Stop Line Way, the coast to coast cycle route that will start/finish in Seaton.
AVP also has three other Rangers with Sustrans; Red Shanks, Bondie and the Editor, but they were unable to make the ride/meeting today.
