Gofer and Dean riding the CS Dynamo 2 up 10Axe Valley Pedallers have moved up yet anothor gear with the exciting news that the club has now become affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT), the organising body for time trialing in England.

Time trialing is a form of road racing run over a course of set distance.  Each rider sets off on their own and races against the clock, the clock starts when they cross the start line and finishes when they cross the finish line.  The great thing about time trialing is that you don't have to reach the lofty heights of a super hero athelete to enjoy it, you can simply choose to race against your own personal best (PB) time.

AVP club members are now able to enter time trial events that are run by any other CTT affiliated club and ride under the AVP club name and colours.  Our members can also ride time trials safe in the knowledge they are covered by CTT insurance.  We can even propose and run our own time trials if we choose.

You don't need a fancy bike or a pointy helment, just a pair of legs and a road worthy bike so why not give it a go and see if you enjoy it?  If you are interested in riding your first TT then why not try the 5 mile time trial organised by Yeovil CC on the 9th of April.  We are hoping to take a group of Pedallers over for the 5, it will be a great taster for those who've never tried it before.  For more information please contact Nevis.

A few pedallers tried their hand a time trials last year and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  See how many you can recognise.
