 Building on the success of our big charity event in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust held last year, we are now organising an epic verison.
It will be the same 5 mile circular route along the Axe Estuary, through Colyford and back to Seaton but this year there will be one very significant difference, it is going to held for a full 24 hours!
The event has been timed to coincide with the Tour of Britain race that will pass through Seaton on Friday the 18th of September 2009 and will also form a major part of The Seaton Festival of Cycling taking place the same weekend.
As with last year's ride, those taking part can ride as many or a few laps as they choose. The more foolhardy will be able to ride the full 24 hours either as individuals (solos) or as part of a relay team.
The enduance ride will begin at 8pm on the Friday night and finsh at 8pm on the Saturday night. The Fun Laps begin with a mass start at 10am on the Saturday morning. To encourage the festival atmosphere you can cycle the Fun Laps in fancy dress.
Not only is it going to be a great opportunity to raise stacks of cash for DAAT and the Prostate Cancer charity, but it is also a fantastic opportuntiy for anyone wanting to achieve their own cycling goal. Perhaps you'd like to try and ride your first ever 5, 10, 30, 50 or 100 miles? Whether you have a big goal or a small goal it doesn't matter, set yourself a target and go for it!
The great thing is you don't need to worry about being stranded far from home or running out of steam half way through since you'll only ever be 2.5 miles from home. You can also ride at your own pace and yet still be in company for the full time.
